Assassins have already attacked T'lara's home...

Return to Outer Gulg and provide wood to craftsman for armor for Savaloy and Sayaf. Travel back to Tyr to find friendly cleric to revive Lokee, after some effort locating neccessary reagents he is revived.

Meet and Negotiate with odd man interested in magic pottery fragment, investigate arcanist who inspected fragment for Troika. Pattern on fragment appears to be elemental/religous in nature but exact meaning impossible to determine from what we have. Heading south to the ruins of Kalidinay, by way of Gulg (both to retreive armour and confuse persuit).

The Road back to Gulg. Along the way fight a pair of Braxat between Fort Amber and Altarruk, who unfortunately escape with their lives (and loot!). While cutting through rocky badlands between Altarruk and Fort Kalvis encouter a Gargantuan Monstrous Scorpion, who although dangerous proves less fatal then anticipated.

Reach the foreign quarter of Gulg; trade away Giant Scorpion chitin, pick up Darkleaf Breastplates for Sayaf and Savaloy. While journeying back towards Altarruk we encounter some smaller scorpion like creatures, who are defeated. Find some loot of note.

Travel to the Ruins of Kalidinay. Encounter cold cinder skeletons, which are destroyed. Also met and defeated sand giant, who gave us some information on the surroundings.

Head into the ruins of Kalidinay to meet up with Nurid (he knows where the mine is). Encounter some undead and end up saving a member of Nurid's group. Get led to safehouse where we met up with Nurid and get the info we need.
Head out of the ruins and camp with the intent to leave for the Mine the next morning after identifying a couple of items.

Travel from Kalidinay to the Mine, visiting Uncanny Oasis along the way. During travel encounter and destroy Salt Mummies and Remorhaz. Find cave has undead deniznes as well, but they do not appear to venture forth from it, Saquaro Sentinel guarding entrance claim enchantment keep them within. They state they were set to guard it by "the forest goddess" presumably the Oba of Gulg, and attempt to prevent our entry, much to their (short-lived) regret.
Psychicly Reform Savaloy. Savaloy and Lokee lose 250xp each.

Deeper into Mine, Fight and defeat many-legged abominations and Bodaks, large numbers of other undead kept at bay by Uurie's mystical light. Find Giant Pottery Sphere, partially engraved as our magical shard, it contains Magical Basalt disc. Two paths lead forward a caved in tunnel leading in from the shpere room and a vertical tunnel from the main mine excavation.

Continuing Mine exploration, fight and defeat Void Wraiths in main mine, in deeper segement confront and defeat two Rune golems and a Sand golem. Sayaf nearly killed by Sand Golem, saved only by the fast actions of Uurie. Exploration of lower mine levels to continue...

Travel South deeper into burrowed tunnels, encounter and destroy magically summoned Shambling Mounds, a further indication of magical intervention by someone of a druidic bent. the cavern the mounds were guarding appeared natural but had a magically trapped door at one end with two magical stone pedastals in front of it which interacted with the original mysterious pottery fragment to open the door...

Enter door, encounter a pit and falling block traps. Find a room with undead and rat swarms.
Teleport to surface to rest. Territorial tortoises attack, we make turtle soup.
Find some stinky vultures, Sayaf makes friends.

In the man-made portion of the dungeon encounter swarms of rotgrubs and Obisdian Stars, also zombies and undead skins, all fail to dissuade the party from its goals.

Travel south towards Silverspring hoping to encounter slave caravan from house Stel
Intercepted by several beast-head Giants, who are slain through lokee's powerful psionics ;-)
Find Slave caravan, Fayad probes a slave for more information on their origins and the blood obsidian earings.
Teleport to Darrow, south of Raam, hoping to find information on Avish the Templar.

Rather then heading into Darrow, our heroes decide to visit their old friend in Breakshore.
Encounter some floating aberrations along the way who are swiftly dealt with.
Visit with friends in Breakshore, ganing some more current information on Avish the Templar's activites.
Also Uurie and Savaloy go in search of Yafar the Defiler and member of the Union of Verdancy.
They locate someone who calims to be Yafar, but turns out to be a disuised Thri-kreen, potentially the odd Alhandrel.
An explosion follows.
After freeing themselves from the damaged Siltrunner Uurie and Savaloy are joined by the rest of the party who then quickly follow the teleport trail left by the mysterious Thri-kreen.
...Only to find themselves surrounded by Thri-kreen warriors and spellcasters and in the midst of a familiar life draining field of energy.

Ambushed by Thri-kreen!
Despite their valiant attempt to fight off the murderous bug-men, our heroes barely escape and Saveloy dies before they can make good their retreat.
Safely back in Tyr, the group licks their wounds, and learns that Savaloy's spirit is at peace.
The next day Sayaf races to the most likely location of the Thri-kreen's base and discovers a large mountanous island in the Sea of Silt, hidden in a cave on its rocky shore is a Silt Runner. Meanwhile in Tyr, Uurie is summoned to meet with Sadira the Sun Wizard, she advises the adventurers of events unfolding beyond the ringing mountains where several towns have been destroyed by an army of unknown origin.
She requests that our heroes investigate further...

Justin's new character will enter game with 61,500 xp (11th level).

Uurie receives a mystic sending from his brother Malak, who is living in Raam. He joins the party on its expedition to the far side of the Ringing Mountains.
After some preperation and discussion of strategy the heroes teleport to the far side of the Forest Ridge, where they encounter multiple predatory beasts, some of which they avoid and others which they dispatch.

The dangerous expedition continues and the party is best upon by Dunewinders, which very nearly cause the death of Fayad.
The party having traveled about 7 leagues into the deep desert beyond the Foprest Ridge, returns to Tyr to resupply and lick their wounds.
While in Tyr to rest, Uurie is approached by some children who tell him of their missing parents. Uurie and Malak investigate.
They find a tunnel leading in to the catacombs beneath the city, though too small for Uurie. Malak investigates on his own, with Uurie staying as close as he can on the surface, they encounter shadows, just as the rest of our heroes arrive. Realizing the dire threat such creatures pose to the city, the Heroes of Tyr spring into action...

Party descends into the tunnels. Find some shadows which are dispatched and then finds two survivors. While talking with them and figuring the best way to return tot he surface unseen creatures attack the party psionicly.

The battle continues. The party ends up retreating due to people falling unconsious. Before retreating it is determined one of the survivors is actually dead and being possessed by an intellect devourer.
A few minutes later the aprty returned and defeats the intellect devourers.
The surviving missing parent is rescued. Since he is an ex-gladiator, Uurie or Sayaf or someone decides it would be a good idea to hire him as a security guard for the house in Tyr.
Party returns to the army search.
Find one of the sacked cities after being attacked a few times by wildlike.
Army is thrikeen (odd). Prepare to ambushed a scout group.

Ambush the thrikeen scouting party. Combat goes well but end up having to chase down a couple of runners. One was taken alive.
Sayaf scouts to the other city and finds it in the middle of an attack. The thrikeen seem to be using life draining magic similar to the pottery relics found earlier. Sayaf decides nothing can be done to help and returns to the party.
Return to Tyr to interegate the thrikeen. Learn a nation of thrikeen from far to the west is heading this way to test resistance and perhaps invade everything.
At this point party is told the dragon might have returned and is sieging Raam. Party is convinced to investigate without resting (which is much needed right now).

Teleport to the road west of Raam. Arrive at Raam after seeing people fleeing.
Find a guard who approaches the party and tells them that yes the dragon is attacking Raam. He has an army of draconic creatures.
Party scales the wall of Raam and travels south to see this dragon. Encounters a group from the army and captures one alive.
Sayaf at this point flies ahead and gets a good look at the dragon. The dragon is under an illusion that hides the fact that it is undead. Still a dragon though...

As Sayaf flies back the party sees another group of dragonmen and sets up an ambush. They walk right into it and the fight is extremely one-sided.
Return to Tyr to report and turn over the prisoner for questioning.
That night Sayaf and Uuriee feel their connection to their gods weaker than normal.

Fayad rips into the captive dray's brain and learns a bunch of stuff:
- the dragon besieging Raam is not Borys
- it's name is Draegoth and it's the former sorceror-king of Guistenal and operates out of the ruins underneath Guistenal
- after it has sacrificed enough people for defiler magic energy it plans to return there
- it has plans to become a god in some way related to the planes
Everyone theorizes that however it plans to become a god has something to do with the disruption to Sayaf, Uurie (and everyone else's) clerical powers.
Uurie performs a divination (as to how to combat Draegoth and resolve the problem with clerical magic) and gets a cryptic result about lack of trust being our problem, destruction not helping, and that "our least effort may be enough". Fayad and Lokee decide means the thri-kreen need to be informed about Draegoth. Fayad informs the thri-kreen whose backyard Draegoth lives in and Lokee goes "no, not THOSE thri-kreen damnit, the ones with the army."
Party teleports to dray-occupied Breakshore and decides to try to sneak into for some reason???

The heroes perform a daring rescue of the captured survivors of breakshore, killing off the dray sqauds left to guard their king's line of retreat at the same time.
The village of Breakshore itself, regretably, does not survive.

After visting Leviath the Calm in Raam the party follows the trail left by Dregoth's Army down to the shores of the Silt Sea, investigation showss that there are tunnels some distance off shore that continue under the Sea.
A small rear guard group regrets finding itself in the parties path.

Return to Tyr, learn of the advances of the thri-kreen past the ringing mountains. Visited by a Templar of Gulg, who informs us of the methods and tools needed to destroy the Sphere of Verdancy. Depart for the site of our previous encounter with the thri-kreen agents of verdancy. Fight and kill two large Umber Hulks.

Continuing exploration from teleporting Pillar room, Encounter and battle a trio of Banshees, though difficult our heroes overcome them with no significant losses:

Further explore the ruined stronghold of verdency, fight some carrion eating scarabs, spend the day searching through the area, find map of stronghold.

Continue exploring, encounter and avoid more construct defenders, battle hordes of undead in Living chambers. Living chambers are suspended over some sort of illusion of a forest or arboretum.

Locate entrance to Arboretum, battle some sort of undead whirlwind. After dealing with some traps, Enter first Arboretum, Sayaf Finds multiple Battlebriar tracks.

Explore gardens, discover ceiling is covered in a copper reflector, glowing by magic of some sort. Encounter and defeat Battlebriars, as expected.

In another arboretum, Sayaf meets a water weird who tells us a bunch of stuff about the rod and the Sphere of Verdancy, like the fact that destroying the Sphere would likely cause a catastrophe that the rod would be helpless to protect against, that the rod is a control device for the sphere that can be used to dial both the radius and intensity of the amphora effects up and down, and that what the Gulgan priestess told us about the rod's protection aura is true (ie it will protect within a 30' radius or so).

The group returns to Tyr for rest. They find the city mobilizing for war. Asking Rykus what's up, they find that the kreen have make it to the southernmmost city in the tablelands. They could be in Tyr a couple of days after that city falls.
This theory is proved wrong that night as activated amphoras are found burried beneath the streets and a couple of casters for the kreen army start an assault on Try with Meteor Swarms and Weather Control. The first Meteor Swarm targets the Heroes house!

Although abandoned by so-called allies, our heroes fight valiantly against the mystic assault on their home. Tired and ambushed they still managed to fight off the attack and escape with no losses. Sayaf, finally completes his prayer to wrest control of the local climate from the unseen assailants.

Chaos in the streets! Our heroes render what aid they can to the beleaguered city, but thri-kreen roam nearly a quarter of it. Sayaf works to clear the horrific Amphoras of Verdency from beneath the main thouroughfares of Tyr as Lokee and Uurie attempt to rescue fleeing citizens from ravaging thri-kreen packs.
Malik and Fayod sleep peacefully.

While exploring, Uurie triggers a trap which conjures a horde of undead hound creatures, our heroes deal with them and continue exploring. They discover a series of wall engravings tracking the history of Athas, which it appears is still being updated. Following a staircase deeper into the mud palace they are confronted by a pair of statues shaped in honor of sorcerer monarchs...

Our heroes find a Temple within the mud palace dedicated to the Oba of Gulg. Within its altar lies a foul undead spirit which engages them in battle, although the heroes defeat it, Malik is rendered unconscious leading them to rest before pushing on.

The party finds the Oba's personal bathing chambers, staffed by dryads. Sayaf pumps them for information, and they turn out to be easy. Besides a bunch of useless info they also hand over half of the key to the sphere chamber, giving us now the whole key. Malek steals a magical dagger from them, then tries to charm one for some reason and an epic-level enchantment placed on the chamber retaliates by turning him into a wood like thing. Malek now requires the plant-feeding energies of the sphere to survive.

Armed with the whole key, the party now finds the entrance to the sphere chamber. There's a monster but they kill it as easily as they kill everything. Fayad strongly cautions against dicking with the sphere until complete documentation can be found. Lokee urges that the party follow the druid ghost's instructions for turning down the sphere ASAP and then later when they have more documentation they can figure out how to permanently disable it. Lokee says that Tyr is in danger and we must DO SOMETHING NOW, which is of course bullshit because Tyr has long since been overrun, but it's the kind of bullshit that Uurie and Sayaf are really susceptible to.
The sphere reacts to the presence of the rod and extrudes some kind of wood-based humanoid that questions the party on their credentials and purpose. It is apparently mollified by their claims of Oba-sponsorship. At Lokeee's insistence (backed by Malek and Uurie), Sayaf decides to configure the rod the way the druid ghost said and stick it in. In the process he accidentally discovers that you can slide the beetle up and down! Whoa! No one told them about that. Sayaf begins to have second thoughts about whether he knows what he's doing. Fayad suggests that if he isn't sure he knows what he is doing with the major artifact that could easily kill us all that maybe he stop and wait until he can figure it out. Sayaf resets the rod to the parameters the druid ghost gave us and starts to stick it in the sphere. Out of the corner of his eye his near-godlike observation skills notice a slight but puzzling change of expression in the wood thing guardian's face. He stops, second-guessing himself again. "So, uh, anything wrong? Anything you need to tell us?" he asks the guardian. "Oh. No. Nothing. You're doing it right." Awkward, pregnant silence. Sayaf is seriously considering the possibility that the druid ghost set us up and that the guardian isn't telling us what's wrong because she thinks the reason we don't know what's going on is that the Oba set us up, in which case as a loyal servant of the Oba she would want us to remain set up.
Then Sayaf goes ahead and sticks in the rod. The sphere goes wild and seems to turn up to 11 vis a vis the glowing and the tanks of amphora liquid exploding into steam. Malek explodes into flowers. Everyone agrees that something has gone wrong. Sayaf retrieves the rod from the sphere. Malak tries to snatch the rod out of his hands to... do something. Fayad Plane Shifts everyone into the Grey, except for Malek, because Malek broke the linked hands circle in his attempt to grab the rod. Malek remains in the sphere chamber and thus becomes the recipient of the guardian's apology. "Sorry, but I never thought anyone would actually do that." Well honey, obviously you never met a player character before.
