I had a little sea urchin I kept it cool and wet I don't know why I kept it I guess it was my pet Everything was going dandy Everything was fine Until that fateful day We drank a little wine Our minds all clouded over We took a little walk Down the street, around the corner And up to the next block And standing there in front of us Stood the local pub I said "Let's go get a drink." Urchin whined "Blub blub." Thirsty as we ever were Urchin asked me for a drink "No urchins!" yelled the bartender And made a big ol' stink. So I had to leave poor urchin out upon the street I bought him a cheap beer which it grabbed with suction feet Time passed far too quickly, I knew I went too far When 15 hours later, I stumbled from the bar Out upon the sidewalk Laying in the grime, An empty bottle of beer And a little pool of slime "Urchin!" I called out, fearing for his spines I looked and looked and looked But I was nearly blind. Early the next morning, 'Round 5 or 6 at night I continued with my searching Though I was running out of light I walked around the corner And up to the next block Searching for my urchin Though every door was locked. Looking for a lead I went to find a clue Into the bar I went Looking for one who knew I drank a bit of beer and went about my searchin then made some nifty posters that looked just like my urchin I woke up the next morning Earlier than planned Standing at my door was a funny little man I recognized him instantly It was the old street merchant Among the wares he carried He held my little urchin! The poor thing was all hard and was hollowed out inside And coming from behind him A little plug was tied Reluctantly I paid for him And when I plugged him in He lit up in a purple glow That really made me grin
