Which Printers To Use
Make sure you know where you're printing! The list of printers is long and includes printers in several buildings. (And, yes, you still get charged even if it prints in Timbuktu.)
Link to the List of Printers. We try to keep this page up-to-date, but it is occaisonally incorrect as printers move around.
Who can print
To print, you must have an active Windows account, a positive printer-credit balance, and be logged-in to your account (or authenticated to the print server).
To check your balance, log in to https://intranet.cecs.pdx.edu with your CECS (Windows or UNIX) username and password. Go to the "Print Quota" section. You can also find a ShortCut located on Start -> Disk & Printer Quota & Setup -> My Disk & Print Quota.
If you are not logged into a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Windows computer, you will need to authenticate to the print server before you can print. This applies to Tier 3 computers and laptops on the VPN. To do this, open a command prompt (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt) and type the following command:
net use \\frost.cecs.pdx.edu /user:CECS\username
Substitute your actual username for username. If you disconnect from the network, you will need to run this command again before you print.
