 NoNav instructions for Windows

If you cannot remove Symantec Anti-Virus from you computer you may need to use NoNav.

  1. Be sure NoNav is Necessary

    Using NoNav to remove Symantec Anti-virus should be used as a last resort when add/remove programs is insufficient to completely remove Norton or Symantec antivirus applications. If you wish to remove a McAfee application please use McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool.

    Please use add/remove programs before using NoNav.

  2. Get NoNav 2.51

  3. Launch NoNav

    Open the file NoNav2.5.

  4. A window will open confirming that you wish to remove Symantec Anti-virus (and several other pieces of anti-virus software).

  5. Click OK.

  6. Several dialogs like the one pictured will appear asking about various details. Unless you know a reason to do otherwise, click OK or Yes in response to all its questions.

    `The next promptswill change the settings for this run of NoNav`
  7. NoNav can take quite a while to run, as it runs a number of items will be printed to the window it launched earlier.

  8. Restart your computer.

    Finally, NoNav will restart your computer, if it does not please restart your computer manually.
