CD/DVD Burning in Windows
There are CD/DVD burners on all windows machines in EB325 and FAB55-17. Currently the CAT provide the software Nero 6 for burning CDs.
Using Nero 6 to Burn a CD
Burning a Data CD or DVD can be very simple using Nero. The following method shows how to do either.
After you’re placed the CD or DVD you wish to place data on in the drive start nero by going through the following start menu path. Start->Programs->Nero->Nero SmartStart This bring you to the following screen

Select what kind of CD/DVD you want to make and the you’ll get the following screen:

Note that you can see how much space is being used on the CD by the ruler displayed on the bottom of the file listing. To add the files you wish to burn simply press the button labeled Add and navigate to where the file is an select it. For example, say I wish to add one of my CS162 assignments from the Unix samba server. I just locate it using the fol-lowing window as shown bellow and click Add . The window doesn’t go away until you click Finished so you can add as many things from different places as you have space on your CD/DVD

When you’re ready to burn the CD/DVD just click the Next button and you’ll come to the following screen where you can name your CD/DVD. One important note, you can add to the CD/DVD later If you click the check box labeled, Allow files to be added later (multisession disc). If you don’t think you’ll ever burn to this disk again, don’t worry about it.

Once you’ve named your CD/DVD just click the Burn button and wait while it writes the disk. That’s all it takes.
