How to WAKE a computer remotely

Note: This service is not enabled by default. Prior to needing this service each computer will first need to be configured and tested.

Using a web browser, login to the MCECS intranet page

      https://intranet.cecs.pdx.edu/

From the opening page, select the “Network” and “My Hosts”

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

From your “My Hosts” list, select the computer you want to work with

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

If you do not find the desired computer in your “My Hosts” list, it simply means you have not been authorized to use these Intranet functions with that system. Please contact support@cecs.pdx.edu

At the bottom of the Host Information page, find the “Wake” feature

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

Press “Wake up Host”

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

Note if Wake-On-Lan succeeded.

<!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->

That’s it!  After a few moments, the Host should be available for use.
