NTP Access Print

NTP is the protocol used for keeping your system time accurate. We offer 5 ntp servers which are accessible from anywhere within the Maseeh College network. The time servers are synched to both stratum 1 and stratum 2 servers (and each other). So, effectively, we are running stratum 2 servers.

Their hostnames are: clock1.cat.pdx.edu, clock2.cat.pdx.edu, clock3.cat.pdx.edu, clock4.cat.pdx.edu, clock5.cat.pdx.edu

In windows, you can synchronize your clock by double-clicking on the clock, and choosing the "Internet Time" tab. If your computer is a member of a domain (all tier 1 and 2 Maseeh College machines are), then this tab will be missing, since windows will sync with the Domain Controller automatically.

If you're using unix, you can edit your ntp.conf file to specify the servers ntpd will use.
Else, you can simply run 'ntpdate clock{1,2,3,4,5}.cat.pdx.edu', or chose only one hostname.
