Printing via CECS SAMBA from Mac OS X 10.5 |

Before you continue, this will only work with Mac OS X 10.5.3 and later
This procedure will only work if you have
local administrator privileges on your computer.

Step 1
Click on the "+" in the lower left corner of the Print & Fax System Preferences panel.
Step 2
Right click (or control-click) in the printer toolbar, select
"Customize Toolbar..." and drag the "Advanced" icon into the toolbar.
Now click on "Advanced".
Step 3
From the Advanced screen, select "Windows"

Set the "URL:" to "smb://winprint.cecs.pdx.edu/<printername>" (You may need to use the ip address 131.252.210.72 instead of winprint.cecs.pdx.edu ).

You will be asked for your username and password use "cecs\username" and click the "save password" buton; otherwise, it will ask you each time.

Set "Name:" to "<printername>".

From the "Print Using:" drop down menu, select the appropriate print driver.

Click "Add".

Configure the printer specific settings.

Click "Continue".
Step 4
Print something.
