Before you continue, this will only work with Mac OS X 10.5.3 and later

This procedure will only work if you have local administrator privileges on your computer.

Step 1

Click on the "+" in the lower left corner of the Print & Fax System Preferences panel.

Step 2

Right click (or control-click) in the printer toolbar, select "Customize Toolbar..." and drag the "Advanced" icon into the toolbar. Now click on "Advanced".

Step 3

From the Advanced screen, select "Windows"

1. Set the "URL:" to "smb://winprint.cecs.pdx.edu/<printername>" (You may need to use the ip address  131.252.210.72 instead of winprint.cecs.pdx.edu ).

2. You will be asked for your username and password use "cecs\username" and click the "save password" buton; otherwise, it will ask you each time.
   

3. Set "Name:" to "<printername>".

4. From the "Print Using:" drop down menu, select the appropriate print driver.

5. Click "Add".

6. Configure the printer specific settings.

7. Click "Continue".

Print something.
